Practising agricultural economics in an uncertain neighbourhood

WELCOME MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR

Dear Colleagues

I would like to invite you to the 56th annual conference of the Agricultural Economics Association of South Africa. This conference will be held at the Lord Charles Hotel in Somerset West, Western Cape, from 25 to 27 September 2018. The theme of the 2018 conference is: “Practising agricultural economics in an uncertain neighbourhood ".

 

AEASA is instrumental in promoting the interests of the agricultural and agribusiness sectors and rural communities of South Africa through supporting the agricultural economics subject field. Specific objective of the association and the conference include the following:

  1. To promote training, research and interest in Agricultural Economics.

  2. To promote the applications of the scientific principles of Agricultural Economics in order to solve agricultural, rural and relevant national problems in Southern Africa.

  3. To improve liaison between agricultural economists at regional, national and international levels.

  4. To promote the interests and activities of agricultural economists.

 

Come and join fellow delegates from South Africa and beyond to share research and ideas regarding agriculture and the impact and role of agricultural economics.

 

We look forward to welcome you in the Western Cape in September 2018.

  • Early February 2018 - first call for papers

  • Paper submissions CLOSED

  • 7 May 2018 - Registration opens

  • 29 June 2018 – full paper submission deadline

  • 6 July 2018 - organised sessions deadline

  • 6 July 2018 - allocation of papers for review

  • 23 July 2018 - reviewers submit their review

  • 15 August 2018 – notification of acceptance

  • End August - List of papers for programme finalised (only papers with authors registered and paid will be included in the programme)
